United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Netherlands .

Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on 30 October 2020 regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) in Gelderland in Netherlands, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Netherlands.These measures include:
-Temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs from Netherlands.
-Regulating the import of poultry meat and non-heat-treated products according to the health certificate for exporting meat and meat products from all province in Netherlands to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose.
-Regulating the import of table eggs and its non-heat-treated products according to the health certificate for exporting table eggs from all provinces in Netherlands to the United Arab Emirates, accompanying the consignments for releasing purpose.
-Continue to allow the importation of heat-treated poultry products (treated meat and treated egg products) from all provinces of Netherlands.
- As a precaution measure , consignments that were slaughtered after 08.10.2020 are not allowed to import from Gelderland until the health certificate are agreed with the Dutch side.
