Temporary ban on the import of all types of live poultry and wild birds, ornamental birds, hatching eggs, day-old chicks, and untreated poultry by-products from the Slovak Republic

Following the notification published by the World Organisation for Animal Health regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) in the Slovak Republic, the United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from the Slovak Republic.These measures include:To ban the import of all types of live poultry and wild birds, ornamental birds, hatching eggs, day-old chicks, and untreated poultry by-products from the Slovak Republic until the health situation stabilizes;To apply the import mechanism for falcons from high-risk countries to imports from the Slovak Republic;To continue allowing the import of heat-treated poultry by-products from the Slovak Republic;To continue allowing the importation of non-heat-treated poultry products and by-products from the Slovak Republic, in accordance with the agreed health certificates for poultry meat and its products, and table eggs and their products.
