United Arab Emirates is imposing a temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-product, day-old chicks, hatching eggs from Poland

Following the notifications published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) in Poland, United Arab Emirates is applying a precautionary sanitary measure to prevent the risk of introducing HPAI virus through the imports of live birds and their products from Poland.These measures include:- Continue the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their untreated by-products, day-old chicks and hatching eggs from Poland until the health situation stabilizes;- Temporary ban on the importation of non-heat-treated poultry products (untreated meat and untreated egg products) from Poland;- Continue to allow the importation of heat-treated poultry products (treated meat and treated egg products) from Poland.This follows the publishing of the follow-up reports of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Poland, and in compliance with Article 10.4.4, Chapter 10.4 of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code.
