In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Voivodeship of Łódzkie in Poland, including those shipped through third countries, since 22 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the Republic of Poland".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Summit County in Ohio in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 22 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Tuolumne and El Dorado Counties in California in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 31 August 2022 for Tuolumne County and 15 September 2022 for El Dorado County, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the departments of Seine-Maritime and Loir-et-Cher in France, including those shipped through third countries, since 16 September 2022 for Seine-Maritime and 26 September 2022 for Loir-et-Cher, based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks of poultry to be exported to Japan from France", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from France" and Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Merrimack County in New Hampshire in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 27 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

The revisions of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Plant Protection Act and relevant requirements were notified by G/SPS/N/JPN/1076 on 29 July 2022, and these have been published in the Japanese Official Gazette on 30 September 2022.These revisions and requirements will enter into force on 1 April 2023.The revised Ordinance for Enforcement of the Plant Protection Act and the details of requirements can be viewed at the following URLs:-       List of the Plants and Other Objects Subject to Specific Phytosanitary Measures in Exporting Countries (Annexed Table 1-2 of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Plant Protection Act): https://www.maff.go.jp/pps/j/information/language_top.html.The requirements for the used agricultural machineries for which measures will be introduced this time are listed in item 25 in Table1-2.

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry from the State of Tennessee and poultry meat and egg products from Allen and Williams Counties in Ohio and Obion County in Tennessee in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 20 September 2022 based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control", "Animal Health Requirements for day old chicks and hatching eggs to be exported to Japan from the United States" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Bristol County in Massachusetts and Teton County in Montana in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 21 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the department of Indre-et-Loire in France, including those shipped through third countries, since 19 September 2022, based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks of poultry to be exported to Japan from France", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from France" and Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the department of Meuse in France, including those shipped through third countries, since 12 September 2022, based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks of poultry to be exported to Japan from France", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from France" and Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Ashland and Defiance Counties in Ohio in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 13 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Twin Falls County in Idaho in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 15 September 2022, based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".

In order to prevent the introduction of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry from the State of Virginia and poultry meat and egg products from Caroline County in the State of Virginia in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 6 September 2022 based on Articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control", "Animal Health Requirements for day old chicks and hatching eggs to be exported to Japan from the United States" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the United States".
