This Technical Regulation establishes phytosanitary measures for Georgia in order to prevent the introduction and spread of the citrus fruit borer Anoplophora chinensis (Forster) (hereinafter - the specified organism) in the territory of the country.It defines rules for importation of specific plants produced in China.

This Regulation lays down rules for:the performance of official controls and other official activities by the competent authorities;the financing of official controls;the administrative assistance and cooperation;the adoption of conditions to be fulfilled with respect to animals and goods entering Georgia;the establishment of a computerised information system to manage information and data in relation to official controls.This Regulation shall apply to the official controls performed for the verification of compliance with the rules, established in Georgia:(a) food and food safety, integrity and wholesomeness at any stage of production, processing and distribution of food, including rules aimed at ensuring fair practices in trade and protecting consumer interests and information, and the manufacture and use of materials and articles intended to come into contact with food;(b) deliberate release into the environment of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) for the purpose of food and feed production;(c) feed and feed safety at any stage of production, processing and distribution of feed and the use of feed, including rules aimed at ensuring fair practices in trade and protecting consumer health, interests and information;(d) animal health requirements;(e) prevention and minimisation of risks to human and animal health arising from animal by-products and derived products;(f) welfare requirements for animals;(g) protective measures against pests of plants;(h) requirements for the placing on the market and use of plant protection products and the sustainable use of pesticides, with the exception of pesticides application equipment;(i) organic production and labelling of organic products;(j) use and labelling of protected designations of origin, protected geographical indications and traditional specialities guaranteed.

Rules for the use and marketing of animal feed additives and premixes for use in animal nutrition, as well as labelling and supervision.

The purpose of this rule is to:-         determine compliance with the safety requirements of food of non-animal origin/animal feed intended for import;-         determine the appropriate conditions and mandatory procedures;-         define the type of prohibited food (dry bean with following HS codes: 07133500, 07133900, 07139000) from Nigeria;o    define the model of CHED (Common Health Entry Document), and official certificate for import into Georgia (see annex No. 7);-         also define parameters on which samples can be taken in the custom.Also:-         cargo, which is defined in annex No. 2, must be accompanied with the results of laboratory analyses and official certificate for import into Georgia (annex No. 7);-         lab analyses must be done on the parameters referred in annex No. 2.

This Rule sets out the requirements on the non-commercial movement of pet animals and defines certificate model for pets.

The amendment to this resolution defines import health certificates and declaration forms for animal by-products of Georgia. Certificates and declarations will enter into force on 1 May 2022.

This rule establishes the rules for the use and placing on the market of animal feed additives and premixes, as well as labeling and supervision. The placing on the market, processing or use of animal feed additives is prohibited unless: a) animal feed additives are not authorized by the European Union and are not listed in the Register under Article 7 defined by this rule; b) the conditions of use defined by this rule, including the general conditions defined in Annex N3 to this rule (unless otherwise provided by the authorization), and the authorization of the substance (substance) is protected; c) the requirements related to labeling defined by this rule are met. This Decree defines import health certificate forms for petfood prepared from animal by-products for Georgia. Certificates entered into force on 1 October 2021. Decree No. 605 is adopted under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) agreement and was elaborated according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 142/2011 of 25 February 2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and implementing Council Directive 97/78/EC as regards certain samples and items exempt from veterinary checks at the border.
