This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 361/2024 (2 pages, in Arabic) which extends the shelf life of frozen fish and frozen liver stipulated in the Egyptian Standard ES 2613-2/2008 for "Shelf life for food products part 2: shelf life" (18 pages, in Arabic) to be ten months in case of frozen fish and twelve months in case of frozen liver from the date of slaughter. This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 133/2024 (2 pages, in Arabic) which stipulates raising the moisture content of imported wheat to reach 14% by weight (as maximum) for one year starting from the date of entry into force of the Decree.It should be noted that the Egyptian Standard ES 1601-1/2010: Essential requirements for wheat (Triticum aestivum) was formerly notified in G/SPS/N/EGY/39 dated 2 July 2010.Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian Standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.Proposed date of adoption: 21 April 2024Proposed date of entry into force: 23 May 2024

The Ministerial Decree No. 143 /2024 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8042 which specifies the essential requirements and descriptive criteria of fermented milks, which include fermented milks, heat-treated fermented milks, concentrated fermented milks, and complex dairy products, with the exception of labneh, which depend on the use of these milks and are prepared for direct consumption or for other manufacturing processes and which are consistent with the definitions stated in Claus 2.

This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 503/2023 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1651 for "Chilled poultry and rabbits" (partial amendment No. 1 in 1 page, in Arabic).It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 1096/2019 (1 page, in Arabic) that was formerly notified in G/SPS/N/EGY/98 dated 8 January 2020, mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard.Worth mentioning is that ES 1651 "Chilled poultry and rabbits" (partial amendment No. 1 in 1 page, in Arabic) is concerned with amendment the note under clause (2) "Definition". It is contained "Inedible parts are considered feathers, blood, and offal.
