Reglamento para la Vigilancia, Diagnóstico, Análisis de Riesgo de Plagas y Campañas Fitosanitarias (Regulation on phytosanitary surveillance, diagnosis, pest risk analysis and campaigns)The Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the "Regulation on phytosanitary diagnosis, surveillance and campaigns", notified on 4 December 2007 in document G/SPS/N/HND/24, has been amended and updated, and is now entitled "Regulation on phytosanitary surveillance, diagnosis, pest risk analysis and campaigns".The notified Regulation establishes the technical, administrative and legal provisions for the implementation of phytosanitary procedures related to phytosanitary surveillance, diagnosis, pest risk analysis and campaigns provided for under the current Law on Plant and Animal Health. The Regulation applies to products and by-products of plant origin at the national level and in international trade, through actions determined by the National Agriculture and Food Health and Safety Service (SENASA) for the prevention, detection, containment, suppression, control or eradication of pests that threaten the country's plant health or food security.Please note, therefore, that the Regulation has been updated and that there will be a comment period of 60 days as from the date of this notification.

Regulate the production, processing and marketing of organic products by establishing rules for the different stages of these processes, including product certification;2. Establish control mechanisms for and ensure the integrity of organic products;3. The notified Regulation seeks to establish the characteristics, requirements and technical specifications to be met by nixtamalized maize flour for human consumption that is marketed in national territory. It applies to all actors involved in the processing, marketing and distribution of nixtamalized maize flour for human consumption. Such flour includes imported, domestically produced and donated maize flour.

The purpose of the notified General Regulation on Agri-Food Safety is to develop the provisions of the Law on Plant and Animal Health (No. 157-94), as amended by Decree No. 344-205 on food safety and adequacy, in order to protect consumers' health and facilitate food trade.The agri-food safety inspection and certification system of the Technical Directorate of Agri-Food Safety (DIA) must establish and implement regulatory programmes and requirements for approval, inspection, certification, surveillance and monitoring based on risk analysis concepts in order to ensure the supply of safe food.The notified General Regulation applies to the production of meat and meat products, fishery and aquaculture products, milk and milk products, apiculture products, fruits and vegetables and feedstuffs, during the stages of primary production, processing, storage, import and export.

Regulations on wood packaging material in international trade The Government of the Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the Regulations on wood packaging material in international trade, notified on 3 February 2006 in document G/SPS/N/HND/11, have been updated and that there will be a comment period of 60 days as from the date of notification. The notified Regulations seek to establish the phytosanitary measures for wood packaging material in use in international trade in goods, the technical specifications thereof, and the use of the globally recognized mark attesting to the application of such measures; define the requirements governing the use of this mark on wood packaging material used for the importation and exportation of goods; and establish guidelines to facilitate the inspection, at entry points into the country, of wood packaging material used for the importation of goods, with a view to reducing the risk of pest introduction. https://sde.gob.hn/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/ACUERDO-CD-SENASA-Reglamento-de-Madera-CPI.pdf

The notified Central American Technical Regulation (RTCA) establishes the technical specifications to be met by yoghurt, as defined in Article 4.1 thereof. The Regulation provides elements for the classification and composition of yoghurt. It applies to yoghurt for direct human consumption or further processing in the territory of the States Parties. Note 1: The word yoghurt is used in this document, but may also be referred to as "yogurt", "yogurth", "yoghurt" or "yogourt".

Reglamento de Organización, Funcionamiento y Atribuciones de la Dirección Nacional de Vigilancia y Fiscalización Sanitaria (Regulations on the Organization, Functioning and Responsibilities of the National Directorate for Sanitary Surveillance and Control) The Government of the Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the final date for comments or observations concerning notification G/SPS/N/HND/65, dated 6 March 2023, on regulations on the organization, functioning and responsibilities of the National Directorate for Sanitary Surveillance and Control, has been extended to 4 June 2023.

Regulations on the Registration, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products The Government of the Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the period for submitting comments on the Regulations on the Registration, Use and Control of Plant Protection Products, notified on 13 January 2023 in document G/SPS/N/HND/64, has been extended by 30 days to 13 April 2023.

The notified text provides for the supervision, verification, control and surveillance of the compliance by establishments supplying products and services of sanitary interest with legal, technical and administrative regulations. It provides for the implementation of the policies and procedures required to apply the sanitary regulations in force, with a view to remedying any conduct or poor practices that have or may have an impact on human health through technical and legal processes and the imposition of the relevant penalties. It also regulates import and export processes and all other regimes applicable to consumer products for human use and establishes provisions concerning the network of laboratories. The notified text is of general interest and shall apply to natural and legal persons, public or private, engaged in handling, selling, dispensing, processing, packing, preserving, manufacturing, refurbishing, importing, re-importing, exporting, re-exporting, storing, transporting, distributing, marketing, clinical trial research and advertising activities, in addition to any other activity specified by the ARSA, that involve products of sanitary interest. It shall also apply to any establishment related to the above-mentioned activities, with a view to protecting health.

The notified regulations establish the technical, administrative and legal provisions under the Law on Plant and Animal Health concerning the registration, importation, manufacture, formulation, re-packaging, re-packing, transportation, storage, distribution, sale, use, management, testing (research) and exportation of plant protection products. Plant protection products for domestic and commercial use are not covered by these regulations

Reglamento de Cuarentena Agropecuaria (Regulation on agricultural quarantine) The Government of the Republic of Honduras hereby advises that the "Regulation on agricultural quarantine", notified on 4 December 2007 in document G/SPS/N/HND/26, has been updated and that there will be a comment period of 60 days as from the date of this notification. The notified Regulation seeks to establish the technical, administrative and legal provisions for protecting the country's agricultural health by means of measures to prevent the introduction, establishment and spread of pests and diseases of economic and quarantine significance which jeopardize human, animal and plant health in Honduras.
