Animal health requirements and a model international veterinary certificate for the exportation of frozen porcine semen to the MERCOSUR States Parties.

Additional animal health requirements established by MERCOSUR States Parties for the importation of ruminants, with regard to Schmallenberg disease.

The notified Ministerial Resolution prohibits the use throughout national territory of ethion-based veterinary products, such as anti-fly, anti-larval, anti-mange, anti-lice and anti-tick products, as pour-ons or for environmental application. The use of ethion is permitted exclusively in anti-tick products administered by dipping or spraying.

DGSG Resolution No. 374/016 of 29 November 2016 postpones until 1 April 2017 the entry into force of DGSG Resolution No. 326/016 of 31 October 2016, which requires proof of a negative immune response to Leishmaniosis for canine animals imported into Uruguay from countries where the disease is present.In addition, DGSG Resolution No. 374/016 requires that canine animals from countries where Leishmaniosis is present, which are entering Uruguay via border crossings in the departments of Artigas and Salto, be accompanied by vector-repellent collars between 1 December 2016 and 31 March 2017.The sanitary certificate required by MERCOSUR (Resolution No. 52/012 and supplement thereto) must be provided in all cases.

The notified text authorizes the entry into Uruguay of canine animals from countries or areas affected by Leishmaniosis, providing that they are accompanied by: (a) proof of the detection of a negative immune response to Leishmaniosis, in accordance with the OIE Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals (the relevant test must have been carried out within the 60 days immediately prior to entry); and (b) the sanitary certificate required under Resolution MERCOSUR/GMC/RES No. 52/2012.
