Morphological Features

Larvae exophytic, brightly colored, eruciform, with abdominal ambulatory ampullae, resembling lepidopteran larvae. Fourth instar larvae 13–16 mm in length. Head with frontoclypeal suture arcuate; mandibles with two apical teeth; premental sclerite sclerotized, V-shaped, well distinct. Stipes elongate, with one stipal and two palpiferal setae of equal length; mala rounded, with two malar basiventral setae, five marginal dorsal short spatulate setae, and five smaller ventral setae aligned along outer margin. Each side of head with one vertical seta, two approximate short super orbital setae, and one orbital seta near eye margin. Thorax: metathorax with eight anterior setae of similar length and one pair of shorter posteromedial setae; each leg with two femoral setae of similar length. Abdomen with six pairs of annular spiracles on segments I–VI, elongate oval, visible in dorsal view. Pupa with two pairs of apical setae, three lateral setae, and three posterolateral setae on each side.
