Prociphilus
TaxID: 133102
Basic Information
Prociphilus
Woolly Aphids
Prociphilus is an aphid genus of the subfamily Eriosomatinae, which cause the plants they attack to produce galls. The aphids reside and feed within the gall. There are around 50 species in this genus. The appearance of Prociphilus oriens is often said to presage the first snowfall in Hokkaido and Tohoku. Prociphilus oriens is commonly called yukimushi (? ), literally translating to "snow bug", in Japan.

PRJNA272283 SRX893553 SRP055601 insect Transcriptome of Prociphilus tesselatus: Sample Prtes - Prociphilus tesselatus "Construction of libraries and sequencing on the Illumina HiSeq2500 were performed at the W. M. Keck Center for Comparative and Functional Genomics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Messenger RNA was selected from one microgram of high quality total RNA. RNAseq libraries were constructed using the TruSeq Stranded RNA Sample Preparation Kit (Illumina, San Diego, CA). Libraries were sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq2500 with TruSeq SBS sequencing kits version 3. The libraries were sequenced from both ends of the molecules to a total read length of 100nt from each end. The raw .bcl files were converted into demultiplexed fastq files with Casava 1.8.2 (Illumina)." {'breed': 'wildtype', 'tissue': 'whole organism', 'lat_lon': '32.6636 N 85.4855 W', 'dev_stage': 'adult', 'collected_by': 'Nathaniel Hardy', 'geo_loc_name': 'USA: Alabama, Lee Co., AU Forest Ecology Preserve', 'biosamplemodel': 'Invertebrate', 'collection_date': '2013-10-25', 'biomaterial_provider': 'Nathaniel Hardy, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama 36849, USA'} |
