Morphological Features

Adult female: body length 20–30 mm; body bluish-black; legs bluish-black; ovipositor longer than forewing. Antennae with 14–15 brown segments, often paler basally and apically; labial palpi two-segmented; metatibia with one apical spur. Forewing with crossveins C1 and 2RM absent; cell 2A with base of 3A present. Black on abdominal apex may be restricted to dorsal or ventral abdomen. Male: similar but with shorter ovipositor.
