Thaumastocoris

Small, body length 2–3.5 mm, strongly dorsoventrally compressed and elongate. Dorsum moderately polished, with scattered shallow to deep setose punctures; setae short, erect, straw-coloured. Head mostly cream to light brown, vertex and mandibular plates often darker; vertex mostly impunctate, with transverse puncticulate rows; mandibular plates elongate and broad, surpassing clypeus by clypeal length or more, contiguous medially, concave dorsally, lateral margins recurved. Antennae with uniform distribution of decumbent setae intermixed with fine erect setae; antennomere II approximately double length of I, cylindrical to dorsoventrally compressed; antennomere III approximately same length as II. Labium short to moderate, not reaching beyond posterior margin of prosternum. Pronotum weakly to strongly constricted medially, mostly yellowish brown; callosite region sparsely punctate, punctures shallow, denser along midline and anterolateral angles. Medial margin of corium convex medially, weakly excavate distally. Tibia slightly swollen subapically; fossula spongiosa elongate, reaching distal half or third of second tarsomere. Lateral and ventral aspects of body irregularly to uniformly clothed with erect to decumbent setae.
