Ghost Ant

Ravavy indicus is a species of ant in the genus Ravavy. Described by Forel in 1895, the species is endemic to various countries in Asia. Originally described in Tapinoma, it was transferred to the genus Ravavy in 2025.

Morphological Features

Worker. Head length 4.31 ± 0.12 mm, head width 3.87 ± 0.06 mm, eye length 0.89 ± 0.05 mm, eye width 0.58 ± 0.01 mm, scape length 3.56 ± 0.08 mm, mandible length 1.11 ± 0.12 mm; cephalic index 89.83 ± 1.17, eye index 20.59 ± 0.88, scape index 82.95 ± 2.34. Body colour generally lighter brown, head and mesosoma not blackish, relatively more uniform in colour compared to Tapinoma melanocephalum.
