Megapulvinaria maxima

Adult female body elongate oval, about 4.2–6.2 mm long and 2.7–3.8 mm wide. Dorsal setae conical, each 8–16 µm long, scattered. Anal plates each with one cylindrical discal seta (34–50 µm long), one large apical spatulate seta (52–64 µm long), and two spinose and/or spatulate setae along posterior third of inner margin (40–56 µm long). Anal ring subcircular, with 2 or 3 rows of translucent pores and 6 anal ring setae. Marginal setae of two types: large stout setae (17–38 µm long) with truncate or bifid apex and basal socket with 1–2 small pores; and broad short setae (14–24 µm long) with truncate apex and larger basal socket with 3–8 small pores. Stigmatic spines in groups of 3, median spine much longer than laterals, each 42–96 µm long. Antennae with 2 pairs of long and 1–3 pairs of short interantennal setae. Legs: trochanter+femur 239–405 µm, tibia 180–245 µm, tarsus 96–122 µm. Venter with multilocular disc-pores usually with 10 loculi, mainly on posterior abdomen. Pregenital disc-pores present; 2 pairs of long pregenital setae on segments VI and VII. Ano-genital fold with 1 pair of long and 1 pair of short setae along anterior margin and 2 or 3 pairs laterally.
