Arija is a small town and municipality in the province of Burgos, located to the north of the provincial capital Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile-Leon, Spain. The town's history dates back more than thousand years. Is divided into 'neighborhood above' and 'neighborhood below' or 'Vilga'. It consisted of the Santa Gadea de Alfoz. The recent history of Arija is linked to the factory of Cristaler a Espa?ola S.A., that in 1906 settled in the lands of Arija. A French company of the Saint-Gobain Emporium, founded in 1665 by royal privilege of Luis XIV, was specialized in the manufacture of flat glass. This town is now situated on de artificial lake of "Embalso del Ebro" when the Ebro river was dammed.

Morphological Features
Body densely pubescent, with some longer setae on head and pronotum. Width across humeri about 1.8 times head width including eyes. Mandibular plates and tylus equal in length, surpassing antennifers. Bucculae granular, at least half length of first rostral segment. Pronotum, scutellum, and corium densely pubescent, except on maculae. Antennal segment II more than half the width of segment I in some species, less than half in others. Pronotum with an irregular longitudinal blackish stripe in middle, not reaching posterior margin. Femora darker than general color, with scattered lighter spots. Ventral surface of head, middle of urosternites III and IV, lateral areas of urosternites IV and V, and sublateral areas of urosternites V–VII with darker markings. Gonocoxite VIII with tiny tubercles and setae close to sutural and apical margins. Ventral rim, in posterior view, slightly convex in middle.
