Aphalaridae is a family of insects in the superfamily Psylloidea, commonly known as jumping plant lice or psyllids with a worldwide distribution. It was first described in 1879 by Austrian Entomologist, Franz L?w along with the tribe Aphalarini. Like other psyllids, aphalarids are small, sap-sucking insects, and they are often highly host-specific. The family contains approximately 749 species. The classification of the family was revised in 2012 and further amended in 2021 to include new molecular and morphological data.
