Thrips alliorum

Body length about 1.2–1.5 mm. General body color brown to dark brown. Head with ocellar setae III outside ocellar triangle, posterolateral to fore ocellus, about twice as long as longitudinal diameter of hind ocellus. Antennae 7-segmented; segment III yellow often with apex slightly darker. Pronotum weakly sculptured with transverse striae medially, with 22–25 discal setae; posteroangular setae 2 pairs, setae I distinctly longer than setae II. Fore wing first vein with six or seven basal and three distal setae. All femora dark brown; fore tibia brownish yellow with outer margin darker; mid and hind tibiae dark brown with apex pale; all tarsi brownish yellow. Abdominal tergite II with S1 setae much anterior to level of S2 setae and arranged in transverse line with MD setae, subequal in length to S2 setae; tergites with lines of sculpture slightly extending to mesad of S1 setae; sternites III to VII with 10–14 discal setae arranged in irregular line; pleurotergites with a few discal setae and without ciliate microtrichia.
