Chrysocoris is a genus of brightly colored shield-backed bugs belonging to the family Scutelleridae, erected by Carl Wilhelm Hahn in 1834. Species are recorded from South and South East Asia.

Morphological Features

Body metallic green or blue, sometimes with golden tinge; dorsum metallic green or violaceous blue with black spots on pronotum and scutellum. Head with basal area black; jugal lobes subquadrate apically; lateral margins of head deeply sinuated before eyes; eyes protruded laterally, almost touching anterior pronotal angles. Antennae black; basal antennal segment not extending beyond apex of head; second antennal segment shortest. Pronotum with antero-lateral margins slightly depressed or laminate; pronotal spots variable in number. Scutellum convexed at base, covering almost whole abdomen except anterior margin of exocorium; scutellar spots present. Abdomen ventrally convexed; ventro-lateral margins sometimes with purplish pink band; submarginal series of black spots on abdominal sternites. Legs with coxae, femora, and tibiae black with violaceous tinge; tarsal segments black. Body with fine and thick punctations except head.
