Elaphidion

Genus-level diagnosis based on adult morphology. Body broadly elongate, integument reddish-brown to darker, pronotum and head often slightly darker. Head with area between antennal tubercles coarsely, irregularly punctate with sparse setae; vertex glabrous with sparse punctures and setae. Antennae with antennomeres III–VI unispinose at apex; antennomere III subequal to scape, with narrow brush of golden setae medioventrally; antennomeres IV–X gradually decreasing in length; antennomere XI distinctly longer than preceding segment. Pronotum inflated, distinctly broader than long, arcuate laterally, slightly narrower than elytral base, with shallow broad impressions more pronounced on sides; pronotal calli present, including narrow elongate median callus and six peripheral calli. Prosternal process acutely declivous, weakly expanded at apex, densely finely confluently punctate in middle, glabrous areas on sides expanding towards apex. Elytra each ornamented with a large irregular glabrous area along sutural margin and a distinct irregular space of dense white to yellowish pubescence in front of middle; elytra not costate posteriorly; elytral apex with weak spines apicolaterally, apicomesal spine about three times length of apicolateral spine. Legs with femora moderately clavate. Pubescence on dorsum moderately dense, golden, appressed; erect setae very sparse.
