Morphological Features

Body length 2.0–3.5 mm, elongate oval, moderately convex. Macropterous and brachypterous morphs present. Head transverse, slightly broader than anterior margin of pronotum, mostly smooth; eyes prominent; antennae inserted in front of eye, four-segmented. Pronotum trapezoidal, collar thin, callosite region weakly delineated, posterior margin convex, humeral angles rounded; in macropterous individuals pronotum gently sloping in lateral view, nearly vertical in brachypterous individuals. Scutellum triangular. Hemelytra: macropterous form with membrane extending beyond apex of abdomen, membrane with one cell, minor cell obsolete; brachypterous form with hemelytra rounded, shell-like, undivided, covering at most abdominal tergite VI. Legs: metafemora elongate, incrassate. Abdomen short, lateral margins parallel, slightly broader in female. Body sparsely clothed in semi-erect simple setae intermixed with decumbent, scale-like setae. Coloration generally dark, often with pale markings.
