Body length 4–8 mm, shape elliptical, moderately convex. Head black with a transverse yellow line between ocular canthi, sometimes discontinuous; vertex matt, sparsely punctured with fine, recumbent whitish setae; frontoclypeal area with coarse, well-impressed punctation and scattered setae; upper lobes of eyes close but separated by a distinct strip of frons. Antennae with first five antennomeres yellowish, bright, 3–5 subcylindrical; antennomeres 6–11 brownish, dull, flattened, more diffusely setose. Pronotum black with lateral margins and sides of anterior margin yellow; shape roughly elliptical, moderately transverse, regularly convex; lateral margins narrow, not visible from above, maximum width nearly at middle; surface minutely and sparsely punctured, with scarce, very short setae. Scutellum black, distinctly raised, almost square with apex truncated, finely setose and minutely punctured. Elytra black with yellow pattern variable; surface matt, covered with close shallow punctures and appressed pale setae; epipleuron slightly convex, smooth, impunctate. Ventral parts of thorax black, prosternal process sometimes brownish; hypomera mostly chestnut, shiny, almost bare, with scattered well-impressed punctures; remainder of thorax and abdomen black, surface almost hidden by dense, short, appressed silvery setae. Pygidium black, covered by dense, appressed whitish setae. Legs with femora and tibiae yellowish to brownish, tarsi darker. Median lobe of aedeagus moderately flattened dorso-ventrally along apical half, terminated with short triangular apex.
