Morphological Features
Adult beetles are dark greenish blue in colour and measure about 21–28 mm in length. The male antenna is longer (length: 5321.9±144.8 μm) than the female (length: 4351.8±183 μm), and the lengths of antennomeres 3–11 also differ between sexes. All antennal fossae are open and form long furrows. The antenna bears several types of sensilla: sensilla chaetica (C1–C4) include long, smooth, thorn-like bristles with a sharp tip (C1, average length 178.6±1.2 μm), shorter bristles inserted into funnel-shaped depressions (C2, average length 100.9±2.7 μm), and short, stout, smooth-walled sensilla (C3, average length 268.2±31.4 μm). Sensilla basiconica (Sb1–Sb5) include short cone-shaped multiporous sensilla at the upper edges of the apical organ on the 4th flagellomere in females (average length 6.4±0.8 μm) and singly at lateral sides of male antennomeres from the 4th flagellomere onward (average length 7.6±0.04 μm). Multiporous sensilla trichodea (MST) are present in both sexes with an average length of 22.6±0.1 μm.
