Morphological Features
Small, dark brown, strongly reticulate Panchaetothripinae. Head with conspicuous raised reticulate sculpture; ocellar area sometimes elevated. Antennae 8-segmented, but most species have two or three distal segments fused; segments III–IV with simple sense cones. Pronotum transverse, strongly sculptured with raised reticulation. Fore wings slender, banded, bearing stout veinal setae; costal setae shorter than costal cilia; both longitudinal veins with prominent setae. Legs not described. Abdominal tergite II with anterior margin strongly constricted, and anterolaterally with a group of prominent strongly recurved microtrichia. Tergites and sternites without distinctive sculptured areolae (unlike related genera). Body length not specified.
