Velarifictorus

Head dorso-ventrally elongate in most species due to lengthened mouth parts; frons swollen; mandibles long and narrowed. Head relatively rounded, often with several brown stripes on the occiput. Pronotum usually wider at anterior end than at posterior end, with parallel sides, somewhat widening in front. Fore tibiae with externally oval shaped and internally small spot like tympanum; in some specimens internal tympanum less visible. Mirror longer than wide, but in some specimens length and width almost equal. Dorsal side of abdomen and cerci dark brown, ventral side of abdomen yellowish. Maxillary palpi: segments I and II yellowish; remaining segments externally whitish and internally dark; length of segments III and IV almost equal, segment V slightly longer. Lateral ocelli clearly connected by a yellow band. Male body length 12.0–13.50 mm.
