Amphelasma

Body elongate oval, prothorax narrower than elytra. Head with short genae, width less than one-fourth eye maximum diameter. Antennae inserted above midline of eyes, widely separated from eyes; antennal length slightly exceeding half to exceeding two-thirds length of elytron; antennomere 3 equal to or slightly longer than antennomere 2, together equaling more than half of antennomere 4 length. Pronotum quadrate or subquadrate (width/length ratio 1.23–1.37), slightly convex, widest before middle, bifoveate with small round or wide shallow foveae, surface smooth, shining or shagreened; lateral margin with large setae only on anterior and posterior angles, sometimes with one or two small setae near large setae. Elytra not sulcate, matt, densely shagreened with narrow long mesh; disk glabrous, irregularly punctate, sometimes with scattered setae on margins or in apical third. Basic color green or yellow, often with spots, vittae or bands. Male metatibial spur elongate, reaching approximately 1/3 length of tarsomere 1. Aedeagus symmetrical, without basal spurs.
