Bolacothrips

The genus Bolacothrips is a member of the Thrips genus-group, characterized by the presence of ctenidia laterally on abdominal tergites and the lack of ocellar setae pair I. It can be recognized among the Thrips genus-group mainly by simple sense cones on antennal segments III–IV. Body color varies among species: one species has the body brown; four species have the abdomen yellow with the terminal segments brown; the remainder are almost uniformly yellow. The abdomen has terminal segments (VIII) IX–X dark brown in some species, while in others the abdomen is almost uniformly yellow.
