Cosmopepla is a genus of stink bugs in the family Pentatomidae. Cosmopepla lintneriana is the type species. Cosmopepla lintneriana was first described in 1798 by Johan Christian Fabricius as Cimex carnifex.

Morphological Features

Species of Cosmopepla are small and oval in shape, brown or black, often marked with red, yellow, or orange. The body is entirely black with yellow or orange markings, or reddish spots. The clypeus and mandibular plates are equal in length. The labium reaches the metasternum. The orifice of the peritreme is elevated as a tubercle.
