Sinoxylon crassum

Body black or dark brown, antennae reddish or brownish, legs and abdomen brown. Antennal club longer than wide, first club antennomere triangular, slightly more than twice as wide as long, second club antennomere slightly more than three times as wide as long, third club antennomere strongly dilated at apex with outer margin slightly sinuate. Clypeus sparsely granulate with very sparse erect setae, framed by darker outer frame and a median line, anterior margin single V-shaped. Frons with more or less developed dentiform granules, more developed in male. Pronotum with anterior angles bearing an uncinate tooth, posterior angles rounded or slightly obtuse, sides slightly convex; posterior area covered with minute, subcircular, appressed granules, densely placed but not contiguous, granulose raised toward lateral sides. Vestiture dense, appressed setae, longer toward anterior and posterior-laterally; on disc short, appressed reddish setae, longer and more recurved on lateral and elytral declivity. Elytral punctures very strong, smaller anteriorly, larger posteriorly, arranged in single rows separated by smooth and shining interstriae ridges, four ridges on each elytron. Elytral declivity strongly punctured on upper half, punctures attenuated toward apex, vestiture of dense, recurved setae. Post-epipleuron gradually widening to apex with a row of short setae on external face.
