Mahasena corbetti

Adult male: body length 15–20 mm, head and thorax brown, abdomen light yellowish brown. Wingspan 20–25 mm, forewings darkish brown without pattern, densely covered with medium broad scales; costal margin almost straight, apex roundish, termen oblique. Antennae short, about ¼ of forewing length, bipectinate with 21–28 ciliated pecten. Mouthparts absent. Forelegs with long epiphysis reaching end of tibia. Abdomen highly extensible, capable of extending to three times its normal length. Male genitalia: vinculum trapezoidal, saccus very long (about length of valva), phallus very long. Adult female: apterous, cylindrical, creamy-white, remains inside pupa throughout life. Larva: constructs case from large leaf pieces, giving shaggy appearance; head capsules visible near front of case after molting. Female pupa: 20–25 mm long, 10–12 mm diameter, dark brown. Male pupa: 12–15 mm long, 3–4 mm diameter.
