Morphological Features

Puparium ovoid, 1.0 mm long, 0.6 mm wide, widest at metathorax. Vasiform orifice inset from posterior margin by at least its own length, with emarginate sides; operculum not covering entire orifice; lingula elongate with one pair of subapical setae. Dorsal setae variable in length, from minute to nearly half as wide as puparium; eight pairs of abdominal and four pairs of cephalothoracic setae present, including cephalic, first abdominal, eighth abdominal, and caudal pairs, all stout and clearly visible; anterior and posterior marginal setae present. Dorsal elevations and protuberances variable, from granular to star-shaped tubercles. Tracheal openings marked as thickened crenulations; puparial outline smooth. Seventh abdominal segment reduced at midline. Two submedian geminate pore/porette pairings on each side of abdominal segment I.
