Morphological Features

Small moths with forewing length 6.0–9.0 mm. Forewing pattern variable, often with bold markings; ground color may be yellow, black, or orange with reddish brown, white, or gray bands and spots. In some species, the forewing has a black horizontal band dissected by orange antemedial and postmedial lines, and a narrower black band along the posterior margin. The hind wing is dark gray with a dark gray fringe. The clasper of each valve is a broad plate arising from the ventral margin of the valve with a well developed ampulla on each side with enlarged setae, resembling a mace.
