Morphological Features

Hind wings considerably reduced in width, about 0.25 mm at base but quickly reduced to a 0.04 mm thick thread, about one-half the length of elytra, lacking venation. Elytra oval or subelliptic, 12-striate, dorsal interstriae with a row of setiferous granules; interstria 5 before declivity raised to a callus or short ridge in both sexes. In male, elytra rather elongate, at least 1.35× longer than combined width, or broad, less than 1.25× longer than combined width; transversely convex on basal one-third of dorsum, then gradually flattened or impressed towards top of declivity. Setae mostly appressed in both sexes; in female, setae on interstriae 1–5 recumbent or nearly so, but somewhat raised on declivity. Female: sternite 8 long, extending into thoracic lumen by 1.3× or more the length of venter; blade an elongate, medially unpigmented triangle, with long setae. Male: sternite 9 with articulated, symmetrical blade, arms broad, outwards curving, apically blunt; aedeagus long, extended well into thoracic lumen, apex narrowly rounded or broadly rounded, subtruncate.
