Hypatopa

Head: vertex and frontoclypeus pale yellowish brown, brownish orange, or grayish-brown tipped with pale grayish brown; antennal scape and pecten concolorous with head, flagellum brownish gray or brown basally paler apically. Thorax: tegula with basal 1/3 brown, apical 2/3 pale yellowish brown, or tegula and mesonotum agouti patterned (grayish brown on basal and apical thirds, pale brown on middle third). Forewing length 4.5–7.5 mm, pale yellowish brown intermixed with brown scales, or grayish brown with faint markings. Hindwing translucent pale brown gradually darkening to apex. Male genitalia: uncus narrowed from widened base, constricted near middle or narrowly rounded apically, slightly downcurved, sparsely setose, shorter than width of anal opening; gnathos fused with tegumen, posterior margin entire or mesially emarginate; valva divided, dorsal part with distal portion of costa extending dorsad forming a setose, clubbed costal process, ventral part broadened basally and produced to a narrow, elongate process distally; proximal flange protuberant, setose and intermixed with spines on ventral and outer margins.
