Cephaloleia

Body elongate, rather subparallel (rarely oval), flat or moderately convex. Head with vertex finely, densely punctate; a very faint medial carina may be present. Eyes oval, convex, finely faceted, slightly prominent. Antennae inserted into pits; sulci or carinae sometimes continue between antennal bases onto frons. Pronotum subquadrate or anteriorly widening; apical margin truncate or weakly rounded in middle. Elytra with narrow, smooth, slightly laminate lateral margins; apex rounded, smooth; pygidium usually visible from above. Elytral surface coarsely, irregularly punctate. Legs with tibia short, dilated toward apex, obliquely truncate at apex. Venter: prosternum smooth medially, densely coarsely punctate laterally. Last sternite with apical margin emarginate medially in male. Adults of most species live in young rolled-up leaves or inflorescences.
