Haplothrips andresi

Body and legs dark brown to black; fore tibiae yellow towards apex with outer margins dark, middle and hind tibiae dark with distal apex pale yellow. Head slightly longer than broad; postocular setae well developed, a little shorter than eyes, blunt or capitate; maxillary stylets 0.26–0.31 of head width apart, retracted to postocular setae. Antennal segment II a little paler at apex, segment III yellow, segments IV–VI yellow in basal two-thirds. Pronotum with five pairs of major setae, capitate at apices; anteromarginal setae two-thirds of anteroangular setae. Forewing sub-basal setae arranged in a triangle, finely capitate; distal cilia of forewing with surface rough. Abdominal tergites II–VII with two pairs of wing-retaining setae, darker than other setae. Major setae on head, thorax and base of forewings dark.
