Morphological Features

Body yellow with extensive brown shading; head brown in ocellar region; pronotum with brown markings; terga and sterna with dark median areas and dark antecostal ridges. Pronotum striate, with one pair of long setae (S2 about 0.5 times as long as pronotum). Forewing second vein with 3 setae, posterior cilia straight. Ocellar setae III close together on tangent between anterior margins of posterior ocelli. A large, dark species compared to other Scirtothrips.
