Morphological Features
Body length (including rostrum) 2.63–2.81 mm. Head oval, small, strongly constricted behind eyes; area before constriction wrinkled, coarsely punctate; area after constriction smooth and shiny, with numerous punctures near constriction. Rostrum convex, curved, base narrower than apex, coarsely punctate with oblong, fine punctures bearing minute, appressed setae at anterior half; antennal insertion at basal half of rostrum in male, near middle in female. Eyes sub-circular, black, strongly convex, with coarse, convex facets. Antennae with scape short, stout, clavate, smooth, reaching slightly beyond anterior margin of eye; funicle 5-segmented with long, erect setae; club longer than wide, globular, with long, erect setae towards apex. Pronotum longer than wide, conical, narrowed forward, constricted at apex. Scutellum dark brown, small, cordiform, smooth, glossy, flat, impunctate. Elytra with dorsum convex, suture slightly elevated; striae with large, deep, circular punctures, distance between punctures half puncture diameter, wider than intervals; intervals subequal, convex, impunctate, with row of extremely minute spaced punctures bearing fine setae; lateral intervals sharply carinate in apical half; interval one and three dilated at apex and feebly elevated; interval nine raised and continuous beyond declivity to apex. Legs with tibiae smooth, glabrous, shorter than femur, width nearly uniform, with strong, arcuate uncus; protibiae setose along distal third of inner margin, parallel-sided; tarsi 5-segmented, with pale yellowish setae ventrally; tarsomere five longer than others, curved, glossy, glabrous. Abdomen with pale yellowish, long tufts of setae protruding from tergites seven and eight, visible laterally. Male with long, dense tufts of pale yellowish setae overhanging from last two tergites and more extended elytral apex; female with similar but shorter, sparser setae and less extended elytral apex.
