Eugaurax

Adult body length 1.5–2.3 mm, wing length 1.5–2.0 mm. Head yellow with a black spot on ocellar tubercle bounded by ocelli and a large bilobed black spot on back of head just above foramen; all setae black except genal and postgenal setulae sometimes white. Eye 1.4× as high as wide in lateral view, sparsely pubescent with short white hairs. One pair of moderately strong inclinate to cruciate ocellar setae; one pair of moderately strong inclinate inner vertical setae; one pair of strong lateroclinate outer vertical setae. Postocular setae weak, irregularly arranged toward vertex, first pair inclinate, forming a single row lower down, continuing onto postgena. Fronto-orbital setulae mostly moderately strong, lowest weaker, forming 4 rows in posterior half of frons and 8–10 irregular rows in anterior half. Thorax yellow with a large dark brown anterior spot just above cervix. Mesonotum with three or four broad black stripes; in palest individuals only an elliptical spot at posterior end of pale brown sublateral stripe; in darker individuals a more or less fused pair of dark spots at posterior end of mesonotum and a short dark lateral stripe posterior to transverse suture. Scutellum with a single row of 6–10 strong setae. Wing hyaline, densely covered with very short pale setae; base of wing with ~5 (rarely up to ~10) moderately strong dark setae. Legs whitish to very pale brownish, moderately covered with dark brown to blackish setae. Abdomen yellow with dark brown to blackish markings including a posterior sublateral spot on tergite 1 contiguous with an anterior sublateral spot on tergite 2; setae dark brown, very short on tergite 1, progressively longer on tergites 2–5.
