Lasiacantha

Dorsum with extensive distribution of elongate woolly setae and/or elongate hairlike setae, often with hooked apex, most dense on pronotum and discoidal area. Pronotum tricarinate, all carinae continuous, medial carina always higher than lateral carinae. Paranota expanded, rounded, semicircular, at least two areolae wide in macropters and brachypters. Lateral margins of pronotum and hemelytra, and cubital and R+M veins of hemelytra, always with setiferous tubercles. Major setiferous tubercles short to moderate length, terminal seta shorter than tuberculate base, sometimes less than half length of base. Head with five (mostly) elongate spines, medial spine either undivided or bifurcate. Cephalic spines greatly elongate, medial spine forked basally, occipital spines with elongate dorsal branch. Antennae with minor setiferous tubercles, pale colour, AI short and subequal in length to AII, AIII setiferous tubercles greatly elongate with straight terminal seta, AIV with compact base, apex clavate. Thoracic sterna: sternal carinae straight, metasternal carinae equal width to mesosternal carinae. Abdominal venter with adpressed, flattened, short, scalelike setae.
