Morphological Features
Body tumid, box-like, dorsal surface largely matte. Head weakly porrect, relatively horizontal or prognathous; frons with a pair of fuscous, velvety spots at lateral corner bordering antennal tubercle and inner margin of eye. Antennal segment I tumid, obviously flattened; segment II clavate, apical part more than twice as thick as base; segments III and IV short, filiform. Collar thickened, broader than base of antennal segment II. Pronotum often with a pair of dark spots on disk, sometimes eyeshape. Scutellum tumid, elongate, lateral margin length greater than basal width. Male pygophore and female segments VIII and IX shortened. Dorsal vestiture and coloration similar among species; pronotal collar uniformly thick throughout.
