Ceratothripoides

Antennae 8-segmented, segments III–IV with forked sensorium and many microtrichia, segment I with a pair of dorso-apical setae. Ocellar setae pair I usually arranged longitudinally, pair III arising within ocellar triangle. Pronotum with two pairs of posteroangular setae and 3–4 pairs of posteromarginal setae. Mesonotum with median setae close to posterior margin, anterior campaniform sensilla present or absent. Metanotum reticulate, median setae at anterior margin, campaniform sensilla present or absent. Forewing first vein with about 7 setae basally and 2 setae distally; clavus usually without discal seta. Tergites without ctenidia, median setae (S1) far apart; tergite VIII posterior margin with complete comb of microtrichia; tergite IX with median setae slender or slightly stout. Sternites III–VI with 3 pairs of marginal setae; sternite VII with S1 and S2 setae arising well in front of posterior margin, S1 setae not close to each other. Female sternite VII with S2 setae well behind posterior margin.
