Morphological Features
Adult females of the genus are completely covered with a test of granular glassy wax in life. Antenna 7 or 8 segmented, with 4th and 5th segments each shorter than wide, or of similar length to width (longer than wide in some species). Dorsum with preopercular pores restricted to abdomen, or present in front of anal plates plus a few on thorax. Anal plates each with conical inner margin setae and apical setae. Venter with multilocular disc-pores frequent on abdomen, some groups also present laterad to metacoxa, or not extending to metathorax.
