Psallus

Species of Psallus are usually 2.9–5.5 mm in length, with oval or elongate body and various coloration from yellow, orange, red, pale or dark brown, or black, sometimes variously spotted or mottled, and rarely tinged with green. Width of pronotum greater than or slightly less than length of metafemur in female. Antennal segment I almost entirely fuscous, or entirely yellow or pale brown, or its base narrowly infuscate, or almost entirely pale. Male genital segment with distinct ventral mesal keel from middle part to apex, or with reduced keel forming a narrow carina at apical 1/2–2/3 of segment; setae on male genital segment simple, not aggregated, somewhat aggregated at left-lateral base, or with a pair of clustered stiff setae; lacking silvery seta. Thoracic pleura with silvery setae in some species. Phallotheca blunt-tipped; vesica flattened, medially twisted with apically situated small secondary gonopore and elongate apical blade.
