Morphological Features
Antianthe is a genus of treehoppers placed in Smiliinae, incertae sedis. The dorsal margin of the head rises abruptly near the eyes. Humeral angles are enlarged. Forewing veins are crowded anteriorly; vein R4+5 is confluent with vein M basad of the M fork. The metathoracic tibia bears a simple, single cucullate row of setae in row I. Subsocial behavior (maternal egg guarding, ant-attended nymphal aggregations) and multivoltine life cycles are known.
