Callistethus

Body length 11.3–15.1 mm in males, 12.3–16.0 mm in females; greatest width 6.0–8.0 mm in males, 6.1–8.9 mm in females. Body shape subfusiform, elytra with broadly parallel sides, moderately convex. Dorsal surface generally orange, head and pronotum with greenish sheen; lateral margin of pronotum with a violet subtriangular band not reaching posterior angle. Most setae yellow, robust setae on tibiae dark brown. Antennal club long, slightly shorter than frontoclypeal suture, as long as combined length of antennomeres 1–6. Pronotum 1.7 times wider than long, weakly convex in lateral view, surface with moderately dense and large punctures, with sparse and long setae preapically and a transverse row along apical margin. Ventrites 2–5 each with a transverse and moderately dense row of short setae, longer and doubled laterally, row of ventrite 6 present at posterior margin with short setae. Ventral metathoracic surface with very dense, large and annulated punctures, sometimes confluent laterally, with dense and long setae, medial portions with sparse and small punctures and minute setae. Ventral surface of mesofemur with a longitudinal row of short and slightly robust setae, with additional dense and long setae evenly on surface. Meso- and metatibiae each bearing two oblique groups of robust setae emerging from a carina, basal fourth with several shorter setae.
