The notified text establishes import requirements for viscera meal, meat and bone meal, feather meal and oils and fats of poultry, swine and horses, and repeals Resolutions Nos. 3832/2002 and 1748/2017.

The notified text establishes specific sanitary requirements for the importation into Chile of viscera meal, meat and bone meal, feather meal and oils and fats of poultry, swine and horses, whether pure or blended. This is in view of the need to update domestic regulations by adopting measures aimed at preventing the introduction of infectious or contagious agents that can affect animal health.
Furthermore, given the outbreaks of classical swine fever (CSF) and African swine fever (ASF) seen throughout the world, it has become necessary to establish security measures of the highest level to prevent the entry of CSF and ASF into Chile - a country free of these diseases.
