The notified draft Resolution establishes sanitary requirements for the entry into Chile of animal products, products for pet consumption, pharmaceutical products exclusively for veterinary use and other specific products in luggage and means of transport. It includes:
- definitions, which clarify the scope of the Resolution;
- considerations in relation to Law No. 20.962 of 2016, of the Ministry of Agriculture, which implements the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES);
- general entry considerations;
- specific entry considerations for the following products:
· homemade food;
· meat, tripe, offal and processed meat products;
· milk and milk products;
· fats;
· other animal products (horns, antlers, bones, teeth, cloven hooves, hooves, claws, nails, scales, feathers, hair, manes, bristles, and items made of one or more of the above or made of leather, such as: pieces of jewellery or costume jewellery, decorative items, handicrafts, musical instruments and clothing; taxidermied, stuffed or embalmed animals are also included);
· other products such as implements, saddles, animal carriers;
· apiculture products;
· animal feed; and
· veterinary medicines.
