The notified Exempt Resolution establishes a provisional measure that temporarily amends Resolution No. 4.634 of 2004, no longer requiring SAG to carry out on-site monitoring throughout the process of exporting fresh Hass avocado pears (Persea americana) for consumption grown in the municipalities of Uruapan, Salvador Escalante, Peribán de Ramos, Tancítaro, Nuevo Parangaricutiro (San Juan), Ario de Rosales and Taretan in the state of Michoacán, Mexico.
This provisional measure establishes that monitoring may only be carried out at specific times determined by SAG, depending on the export projections provided by SENASICA and any breaches that occur.
This temporary amendment will come into effect for the 2021-2022 season and will remain in force over subsequent seasons if the health emergency caused by COVID-19, or other unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, continues to prevent SAG from carrying out on-site monitoring of the export process in Mexico.
The other guidelines set out in Resolution No. 4.634 of 2004 and its corresponding work plan are not amended by this regulation and therefore remain in force.
