Import suspension of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the counties of Hajdú-Bihar, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén in Hungary

In order to prevent the introduction of H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the counties of Hajdú-Bihar, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén in Hungary, including those shipped through third countries, since 24 November 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks of poultry to be exported to Japan from Hungary", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Hungary" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".
