Resolución Exenta Nº: 8033/2021 Modifica la Resolución N° 2.464 de 2004, establece requisitos de ingreso desde Colombia, de frutos frescos de Uchuva y Pitahaya (Exempt Resolution No. 8033/2021 amending Resolution No. 2.464 of 2004, which lays down requirements for the importation of fresh cape gooseberries and pitahaya from Colombia)

The notified measure amends Article 1.2.8 of Resolution No. 2.464 of 2004, modifying the work plan and no longer requiring SAG to conduct on-site verification and testing of quarantine treatment chambers for the fruits and country indicated that have participated in the most recent season and that request a renewal, replacing it with a documentary renewal and delegating on-site verification activities to the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA).
SAG will continue to conduct on-site verification and issue authorizations for quarantine treatment chambers that are participating for the first time or whose operations have been interrupted for a season or more, with the ICA called upon to conduct annual inspections thereafter.
Lastly, for the renewal of authorizations for chambers authorized by SAG whose operations have not been interrupted, the ICA must submit official technical reports, with the background information detailed in the attached Resolution, to SAG for analysis. Those reports will be assessed before a decision is made on whether or not to issue the relevant authorization.
